Utopia was summoned onto the field, and Astral said directly, "Then let's do it your way and go Soaring High, Yuma."
"All right!"
Yuma was immediately fired up when he heard that.
"Let's go, straight to the Battle Phase!
Number 39: Utopia, attack 'Elemental HERO Neos'!"
Utopia's wings of light spread wide, and his entire body seemed to begin glowing. He gripped his sword hilt as light particles gathered from every direction onto the raised blade. The golden-white stream of light seemed to become the will of hope as it cleaved through the air, forming two crescent-shaped blades that trailed a torrent of starlight.
Hope Sword Slash!
Naturally, Neos refused to be outdone. The azure crystal on his chest burst with energy, instantly enveloping his entire body. Blazing white light gathered in his hand and condensed into a light bullet, which he hurled straight at Hope Sword Slash.
The golden blade and the blazing light bullet collided in midair, deadlocked for several seconds as though neither could gain the upper hand. Then both attacks broke through the other's resistance. Hope Sword Slash struck Neos directly on the shoulder, while Neos's light bullet hit Utopia squarely in the chest.
Boom! Boom!
Two explosions rang out, swallowing both monsters in smoke and fire.
Sho Marufuji said, "Did they both go down?"
"No," Misawa said. "These monsters called 'Number' have an unbreakable trait. Most likely—"
Sure enough, when the smoke cleared, Neos had vanished, while Number 39: Utopia still stood where he was, imposing as a mountain.
"Success!" Yuma said. "Number monsters can't be destroyed by battle by monsters other than Numbers, so sorry about that. Even though our monsters had the same ATK, it looks like Utopia came out on top."
Astral said, "We still have Rumble-Rumble Golem left to attack."
"Okay!"
