Removing an Xyz Material to destroy a card was Infected Fly King Baalzebub's primary offensive effect.
If it destroyed a monster, it could inflict damage equal to that monster's ATK. In the physical card version, that had been weakened to half the monster's ATK. Moreover, using its destruction effect did not prevent it from attacking that turn, making it much more broadly applicable.
