Yusei followed the sound and saw three people emerge from the darkness.
Though the three differed in height and build, they wore identical blue uniforms with white trousers. Each had the same silver-white mask over his face, its design fierce and repulsive, especially the crimson eye sockets that resembled some kind of demon.
The identical uniforms made them seem as though they had been cast from the same mold.
"Those guys... it's them!" The moment Yato saw the three, his face changed. As if some terrifying memory had been forcibly dragged back up, he trembled and shrank behind Yusei.
Yusei understood. "Are they the ones who attacked you before?"
"Yes, it was them!" Yato said with certainty.
One of the three grinned upon hearing that. "Oh, so it really is this brat. Strange. I distinctly remembered taking care of him last time. Why wasn't his soul sealed?"
"Doesn't matter. We'll just deal with him again," the second said coldly, raising his Duel Disk. "This time, we'll complete the mission without fail."
Yusei gestured for Yato to retreat behind him while revealing his own Duel Disk.
"Hm?" The tall one glanced at the display on his Duel Disk in surprise. "This one seems a little unusual too. He's no ordinary duelist."
"Is that so? Ha, then we got lucky. We can take him down too," said the medium-built masked man. "The higher-ups will surely be pleased."
Yusei did not know where these three came from, but Kira, secretly watching through a window upstairs, had already confirmed his earlier suspicion.
