With Physical Card Version rules, when Queen's Knight was On the Field, the effect to Special Summon Jack's Knight from the Deck could only be activated when King's Knight was Normal Summoned.

But in the anime, Atem had activated this ability more than once when King's Knight was Special Summoned. Therefore, although King's Knight's effect in the anime was described as activating "when summoned," any form of Summon—Normal Summon, Special Summon, Flip Summon, and so on—apparently fulfilled the condition.

This way, the king, Queen, and Jack—the three knights—had all assembled on Yugi's Field. In the original story, this combination was called the Three Musketeers of the God Summoning, a fixed trio Atem specifically used to gather the Tributes needed to summon an Egyptian God Card.

From the perspective of Physical Card Version rules, this trio merely saved one Normal Summon. It was far from efficient for gathering the Tributes for the Three Phantom Gods. However, this trio received support in later years as well. Konami released a Deck themed around these JQK playing-card musketeers and even intended to tie them to the Egyptian God Cards.

This upgraded Deck could not only swiftly, efficiently, and reliably assemble the three-man Tribute team, but also search for and cycle the Egyptian God Cards, making it very easy to bring out Gods that had originally been difficult to access and troublesome to summon.
