Saiō Takuma sat amid the mess of his bedroom, staring coldly at a mirror before him.
The mirror's surface was covered in cracks, as though it had been shattered by a heavy blow. Yet although he stood facing it, the other side did not reflect his own image, but another man.
The man wore an immaculate white suit and waved a black cane in his hand.
Saiō Takuma narrowed his eyes.
"I didn't know there were others on Earth."
"Is that so? But I know quite a lot about you." The Man in White Suit spoke leisurely. "Perhaps because someone has been far too high-profile all this time."
"Everything is under control," Saiō said coldly. "Unlike you people, I remember my mission clearly."
"Or perhaps you're simply reckless."
The Man in White Suit said.
"Is that so?" Saiō sneered. "I'm not like certain people who still cower about on some backward world. Have you forgotten our mission? This world, more worlds—eventually, everything will become light. There will be nothing but light."
"Yes, I haven't forgotten." The Man in White Suit shrugged. "I'm just not like certain people who start fantasizing before they've even properly controlled their host."
"I have complete control!" Saiō snapped.
"Do you?"
The Man in White Suit reached a hand out from within the mirror and slowly brushed it across from the other side, as though caressing the spiderweb-like cracks on its surface.
Then he smiled, with utterly undisguised mockery.
Naturally, Saiō understood what he meant. He himself had smashed that mirror with a furious punch, because the other him—the original personality of Saiō Takuma—would not stop chattering away inside it, driving him mad.
