And he was certain he was far from the only one who used this card. As a non-rare generic card included in the deck later revealed by Duel King Yugi Mutou during the First Generation Battle City, it had maintained a considerable usage rate in the Dueling World for years. Plenty of people used it.

Everyone used it, so why had nothing ever happened to anyone else? Opening hand bad? Use Card Destruction. Needed to mill? Use Card Destruction. Hand was unusable? Use Card Destruction. So why was he the one whose Card Destruction had blown up in his face?

Why the hell did my one Card Destruction immediately screw me over?

Kira was having such a good time that he nearly burst out laughing.

"Honestly, I've played this deck for quite a while, but I've never seen anyone as eager as you to run headfirst into the barrel of the gun."

The Temple Guardian and Card Destruction combo could destroy all of the opponent's cards in hand at once, wiping out any possibility of them making a move. It practically stripped them of the right to play Yu-Gi-Oh! on the spot.

But pulling off this combo was not so easy. While Temple Guardian was on the Field, Card Destruction could not be activated because of its restriction that "the opponent cannot draw cards." It only worked if Card Destruction was activated first, then Temple Guardian was brought onto the Field through another effect chained before Card Destruction resolved.
