Kira glanced at the card he had drawn and revealed it directly.

"I activate the Spell Card 'Card of Adversity.' If my opponent has monsters on the Field while I have no monsters on the Field, I draw two cards from my Deck." (Original Work Card)

Kira drew two cards.

D.D remained impassive, merely watching his opponent's next move with caution.

Although his attack last turn had failed to achieve the effect he wanted and dealt limited damage, the advantage was still his. His opponent's offensive had indeed been fierce, summoning a large number of Tribute Monsters in a single turn to suppress him, yet D.D had still resolved it perfectly with his brilliant performance.

D.D glanced at his hand and unconsciously clenched his fist, as though feeling the power now surging through his body.

The current him possessed the strongest power he could scarcely have imagined before. It was all thanks to that man he had met some days ago—the man in the white suit carrying a cane. It was that encounter that had allowed him to break free of the restraints that had bound him for so many years and embrace his true, most perfect self.

"I activate the Spell Card 'Trade-In,'" Kira said. "I discard a Level 8 monster from my hand and draw two cards from my Deck.

"I discard the Level 8 'Black Luster Soldier' and draw two cards from my Deck."

"Black Luster Soldier." D.D narrowed his eyes, then revealed an anticipatory expression. "The legendary strongest warrior of the Duel King. Interesting. Hehehe... the strongest warrior and the ultimate hero—which one is stronger?"

"Well, I don't know either. But..." Kira smiled faintly. "I think the side with the better duelist is probably stronger."
