The Descending Darkness

Kira, sleeping in bed, groggily sensed that someone seemed to be calling him. He slowly opened his bleary eyes and, through the haze, seemed to see a delicate face leaning over the bedside, silver hair hanging down as she tilted her head and looked at him.

It was Silence. Though she did not say a word, she was poking him with a finger.

Kira casually picked up the Student Terminal beside him and checked the time. It was two-thirty in the morning. He let out a long yawn.

"What's going on?"

Silence pointed outside the window and made a gesture.

Kira instantly perked up. "An intruder?"

Silence nodded and reached out to push open the window. After a brief moment of thought, Kira threw on a coat and leaped straight down from the second floor onto the lawn outside the dormitory.

Well, that's right. By now, a height like the second floor was practically level ground to him. He had long stopped taking it seriously.

Dressed in her school uniform, Silence led the way. Kira followed her through the woods, and halfway there, he had already recognized the direction.

"Red Dorm?"

Kira was already racking his brain, trying to recall from the original story what might have happened around Red Dorm. But the early stages of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX had been filled with episodic arcs, where supernatural intruders could pop out of nowhere at any moment. That was hardly strange. Most of those arcs had not left much of an impression, so Kira could not think of who it might be right away.

But as they approached the outskirts of Red Dorm, Kira realized it probably was not just some random episodic villain.

This was not power on that level.

Darkness shrouded Slifer Red Dorm. Ordinary people probably could not see
