That was Franz, Industrial Illusions' top card designer and the person specifically responsible for researching and developing The Winged Dragon of Ra among the Three Phantom Gods.

The "The Winged Dragon of Ra—Sphere Mode" Kira used had been developed in collaboration with him.

Though it had been summoned before, those had all been summoning tests conducted in a laboratory. Specialized protective measures had been in place during those tests—such measures were naturally essential for a high-risk research subject like Egyptian God Card development.

As everyone knew, Egyptian God Cards were among the most dangerous cards in the world. Back then, even the earliest Industrial Illusions designers assigned to their development had either died or gone mad. Pegasus, who possessed the Millennium Eye's Divine Power at the time, had personally stepped in to complete the development. Whether designing, developing, summoning, or using such cards, there was always the risk of incurring divine punishment.

Now, ten years later, Industrial Illusions had long since perfected its safety measures for this kind of high-risk research. Even the divine punishment of Egyptian God Cards could be avoided, provided all the laboratory's protective measures were properly in place.

Previously, however, they could only rely on technological safeguards. Only after setting up precautions in a designated location could test personnel briefly attempt to use cards related to Egyptian God Cards—and only for that short window of time.
