"All right, my turn is over. It's Mr. Kira's turn now."
Johan was brimming with excitement.
"I heard the Duel King fights with all kinds of Decks. What kind of strategy will he use to attack this time? Just thinking about it gets me excited."
"Be careful not to get instantly killed, Johan," Crystal Tortoise reminded him.
"Hahaha, don't worry. I'll be fine." Johan gave it a thumbs-up.
"It's an honor to duel the legendary Crystal Beasts as well." Kira smiled politely.
Well, the real-life Crystal Beasts were kind of useless, though.
"My Turn, draw." Kira said, "I also specially prepared a new Deck I haven't used before. Let's see how it goes.
"First, I'll Set one monster in Face-down Defense Position."
Kira placed a monster face-down on the Field.
"Then I'll Set one card in my Back Row. End Turn."
"You're even using a new Deck you've been saving? That really gets my blood pumping!" Johan clenched his fist. "All right, then it's my turn. Draw!"
Johan revealed a card from his hand.
"I activate the Continuous Spell, Crystal Tree!"
An extraordinary tree rose from the ground, its dark brown trunk thick and sturdy. Crystal fruits covered its branches, glittering brilliantly, their reflected light forming a seven-colored rainbow at the crown of the tree.
"As long as Crystal Tree exists in the Spell & Trap Zone, place one Gem Counter on this card each time a Crystal Beast monster is placed in the Spell & Trap Zone!"
Being placed in the Spell & Trap Zone was a shared trait of Crystal Beasts. Whenever any Crystal Beast monster was destroyed, it would not be Sent to the Graveyard like an ordinary monster. Instead, it would become a crystallized gem and be placed in its duelist's Spell & Trap Zone.
