After losing to Kira, Manjoume began to recognize the value of his Ojama spirit and the effort he had put into the duel. At the awards ceremony, he announced that he would stay at the main campus, leaving Principal Ichinose devastated.

• Kira activated the Shadow Game with half of a pendant fragment and forced the three brothers to answer his questions.
• Kira learned that the trio knew little about the mission and that their handler was due to arrive with the crucial information.

• The Demon World Overlord arrived, exchanged Mission Cards with Kira, and asked why he was alone when four people were expected.

Kira joined the spirits gathering to retrieve the Sealing Device and manipulated Lich Lord into sending his team into the cave first. He and the Demon World Overlord entered the cave, where Kira resisted the hallucinations created by the black mist.

• Kira followed the Demon World Overlord to a valley where Lich Lord gathered spirits for a mission to retrieve the Sealing Device.
• Kira led the spirits in a chant of loyalty to Orichalcos, impressing Lich Lord.
• Kira claimed the Demon World Overlord as his captain, and Lich Lord ordered their team to enter the cave first.

Kira reached an altar in the Sealed Land and touched a miniature Millennium Puzzle, which showed him how Atem had sealed the Divine Serpent Geh and left a means to oppose its return. The vision ended as the Root of the Enemy descended into the dimension, heading toward Kira.

• Kira passed through the Mist of Illusions and reached an ancient altar bearing a golden Millennium Puzzle Fragment.

Kira returned from the cave with the Sealing Device, but the Demon World Overlord tried to steal the credit and kill him. Kira challenged him to a duel and turned the Overlord’s opening attack into a field of defenses and a summoned Green Baboon.

• The Demon World Overlord blocked Kira’s way out of the cave and demanded the Sealing Device and his Deck, intending to claim the discovery for himself.
• Kira summoned his Duel Disk and challenged the Overlord, and both began a duel with 4000 Life Points.
• The Demon World Overlord flipped Scapeghost, summoned four Black Sheep Tokens, tributed Scapeghost, and summoned Tawa Scimitar Demon.

Kira’s traps and reviving Green Baboon overwhelmed the Demon World Overlord, who accepted power from a more powerful Dark Spirit. With that power, the Overlord summoned Caius the Shadow Monarch, leaving Kira facing a stronger opponent.

• Kira used Savage Charge to destroy Green Baboon and return the Overlord’s Barrel Dragon to the Deck, then revived the baboon from his Graveyard.

• The Overlord of the Dark Fiend World summoned Caius, banished Green Baboon, and equipped Caius with Dark Dragon Claw before Kira returned Caius to the Deck with Phoenix Wing Wind Blast.
• Kira revived Green Baboon, but the Overlord negated its direct attack with Counter Gate, drew Caius, and summoned it by tributing Statue of the Wicked.

After defeating the Demon World Overlord, Kira emerged from the cave as the God of Orichalcos manifested and devoured its followers’ souls. The Millennium Puzzle Derivative answered the serpent god’s arrival by summoning The Winged Dragon of Ra, leaving the two gods poised to clash.

• Kira defeated the Demon World Overlord, took his Deck, and sent Caius the Shadow Monarch back into it.
• Caius recognized Kira’s strength and tried to question him, but Kira told him to wait and pocketed the Deck.
• Kira found the God of Orichalcos appearing above the valley, and Black Luster Soldier explained that it was only an afterimage seeking the Millennium Puzzle Derivative.
• The God of Orichalcos drained the souls of its assembled followers and grew more solid as Kira and his spirits prepared to fight.
• The Eye of Horus mark on the Millennium Puzzle Derivative glowed and summoned The Winged Dragon of Ra, which appeared before the serpent god.
