Kayson reluctantly took out the Enchanting Table and applied upward buoyancy to the owl's box, allowing the poor owl to wobble away, clutching the gift.
Finally, there was Dumbledore's. He had bought two pairs of brand-new woolen socks in the Muggle World and then enchanted them with a warming charm on the Enchanting Table before packaging them for the owl to deliver to Dumbledore.
A day later, Kayson climbed out of bed and skillfully began opening his gifts. For example, Professor McGonagall gave him a Gryffindor lion brooch because she had noticed Kayson really liked wearing brooches.
Snape was generous, giving him a small bottle of Liquid Luck. The moment Kayson held it, he regretted it. He had never imagined Snape would give him something so valuable. Compared to that, the hair washing machine seemed a bit inadequate.
The gifts from others were mostly similar to accessories Kayson often wore. However, the gifts from Neville and Dumbledore were quite refreshing.
Dumbledore sent a book about Alchemy... it was very profound, very profound.
Neville, on the other hand, sent a set of dark red robes that felt as soft as water to the touch. The patterns flowed like lava, emitting a comfortable temperature in the winter.
Besides these, what Kayson was most satisfied with this Christmas was probably that Hagrid, after his persistent pestering, finally agreed to let him renovate Hagrid's hut.
That day, he rushed out of Hogwarts Castle and, in the blink of an eye, moved Hagrid, his luggage, important items, and cherished belongings out of Hagrid's hut.
"Hagrid, are there no more important things left in this house?" Kayson excitedly turned back to look at Hagrid.
The latter scratched his head, looking at the various items piled around him. "Uh, no."
"What about the dragon egg?"
"That's here too."
"Then there's no problem."
The next moment, Kayson initiated a zero-tick sequence, and an Ender Crystal flew rapidly towards Hagrid's hut. With a bang, the hut disappeared, leaving only a large pit in its place.
"Wow, I thought you said you were renovating?" Hagrid said somewhat awkwardly.
"Don't worry about the details. What kind of new house do you want?" Kayson waved his hand and asked.
"Uh... not too big, but a bit bigger than my old one would be fine. It needs a bedroom, a living room, and most importantly, a kitchen. It absolutely must have a kitchen. A bathroom would be great too if possible. And most importantly, it should be cute."
"No problem." Kayson took out his wand and began the work. With each wave of his wand, the earth beneath his feet vanished under the powerful magic.
Then came the foundation. Several oak trees were heavily buried in the ground, with grooves left in them. After making the support pillars, he used the lava and water technique to create the frame for the foundation, and then began laying the floor with spruce wood planks.
After finishing all that, Kayson beckoned Hagrid over. "Come here, Hagrid. Show me what spaces you need so I can design them for you."
"Oh haha, really? First, I want a fireplace. Can it be pink?"
"Theoretically, yes, but I won't make it for you."
"Oh, okay. Where's the door?"
"Over there." Kayson pointed to the north-facing foundation, near the right support pillar.
"There will be a three-meter-high door here, so you won't have to bend down to enter anymore."
"What should be after entering?" Hagrid asked Kayson.
"Uh... an entryway, where we'll place a shoe rack, umbrella stand, coat rack, and so on."
"Oh, can I remove it?"
"You can, but I don't recommend it. It would look very strange," Kayson explained.
"Okay, and after the entryway?"
Kayson was so bombarded with Hagrid's questions that he started doubting himself. He replied in a strange tone, "Perhaps the living room... Don't you know these common things?"
"The castle doesn't have those formalities, Kayson, and I haven't been anywhere else."
"Alright, the entryway and the living room, both properly arranged, right? Does the living room need a fireplace?"
"Of course, even if it's not pink." Kayson built a fireplace with raw stone on the back of the foundation, placed magma blocks underneath, lit it, and then enclosed it with iron bars.
"How will I put firewood in there then?"
"This flame won't go out. And here." Kayson took out a stone button and placed it next to the fireplace.
"Look at these things. Press it, and the fire goes out. Press it again, and the fire reignites."
"That's amazing," Hagrid exclaimed.
Kayson then placed a coffee table in front of the fireplace, arranged a row of sofas around it, and a huge sofa next to the fireplace, specially prepared for Hagrid.
After that, the kitchen and bathroom were all standard, until they reached the stairs leading to Hagrid's second-floor bedroom.
"..."
Although MC Blocks are not affected by physical rules, meaning theoretically, you could place a thin wooden board in mid-air and put ten Hagrids on it without issue.
However, for Kayson, a top student from the University of Manchester's civil engineering department, it still felt a bit... well... illogical.
Even though this logic was akin to Newton's coffin lid in the MC world, essentially non-existent, for Kayson, who was a bit of a neat freak and a perfectionist, it just didn't feel right if it wasn't to his satisfaction.
So, unfortunately, he didn't use floor tiles and frames to build; he used blocks directly.
This also caused a minor issue, such as the floor of Hagrid's new house's second floor being... one meter thick.
To compensate for this one meter, the first floor had to be increased in height so it wouldn't look too out of place. Similarly, the second floor also had to be increased in height, the attic...
Kayson didn't build an attic for Hagrid's house; the roof was sealed tightly.
Kayson stood in Hagrid's bedroom and, after some thought, directly broke the window to create a bay window, which also served as a sunshade for the entrance below.
Finally, add load-bearing pillars to the sunshade.
"Perfect, absolutely perfect."
"Elegant, so elegant." Kayson stood in front of the brand new Hagrid's hut, involuntarily taking a few steps back, exclaiming.
Then he saw Hagrid carrying his dusty belongings inside.
"...It's not so elegant anymore, is it?" Dumbledore appeared behind Kayson at some point, saying with a smile.
Kayson shrugged, "The most important thing is to be happy living here."
