Before Li Mu Chuan lay a massive pit. If he had not been paying attention just now, he would have nearly stepped straight into empty air.
Li Mu Chuan shone his flashlight down into it.
It was bottomless.
Even the flashlight's powerful beam could not reach the bottom.
It was a complete abyss. The darkness at its bottom seemed several shades blacker than the surrounding darkness.
"What kind of place is this? I've never heard of any pit this deep on Earth, have I?"
Li Mu Chuan looked ahead a few times. The pit was quite enormous, like the gaping maw of an abyss.
Li Mu Chuan took out his lightsaber and dug at the side, prying out a huge chunk of rock before tossing it downward.
As he did so, even Li Mu Chuan did not know whether he was simply someone who liked throwing things into deep holes when he saw them.
Or whether he wanted to hear how long it took for the sound to come back, so he could roughly judge how deep it was below.
The rock fell in. Li Mu Chuan listened closely for a while, but after a long time, no sound rose from below.
"It's that deep?"
Li Mu Chuan peered down, feeling a chill crawl over his scalp.
Just how deep was this hole? Not even the sound came back up.
If he accidentally fell in, he probably would not be getting back out.
Blocked by such a massive pit, Li Mu Chuan glanced left and right, then decided to take a detour.
Not long after Li Mu Chuan left, something rustled beneath the pit behind him.
As if something were lurking within the pitch-black night.
"What the hell is this place? Is there even anyone here?"
