Sunshine, beach, coconut trees.
Sato lay on a beach chair, still feeling slightly dazed even now.
He had clearly been competing yesterday, so how had he ended up lying around today? To his left, a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice floated under Gardevoir's control beside his hand, within easy reach.
To his right, Cynthia lay on another beach chair, her nostrils twitching slightly as she slept soundly.
After a while, Cynthia's breathing subtly changed, and she gradually woke up.
Sato turned onto his side and quietly admired her until Cynthia opened her sleepy eyes and met his gaze.
"Awake?"
"..."
A faint blush rose to Cynthia's face. She straightened herself slightly and sat up, casually taking the other glass of orange juice Lucario handed her and having a sip.
"You haven't slept?"
Cynthia turned her head and asked softly.
"Mm, I still haven't quite recovered."
As he spoke, Sato sat up as well, took the orange juice from Cynthia's hand, and took a sip himself.
Cynthia blinked, too lazy to call out Sato's shameless behavior. She turned and stood up.
"Want to take a walk?"
"Sure!"
The two got up and left, but Gardevoir did not follow. Instead, she started chatting with Cynthia's Lucario.
Seeing how awkward Lucario looked, Gardevoir smiled even more happily.
The sea breeze carried a faint salty tang, and the sunlight was not too harsh. The waves lapped against their feet, carrying away the heat in their bodies.
Sato and Cynthia walked side by side, enjoying the leisure of their vacation.
The place they had come to was not some famous tourist destination, merely a partially developed beach in a coastal town.
There were few people, mostly local villagers, and even fewer recognized the two of them.
Few did not mean none, however. Not to
