"Wobbuffet is incapacitated. Honchkrow wins. Please have Elite Four Trainer Itsuki Switch Pokemon!"
Accompanied by the referee's loud declaration, the accident-filled match between Wobbuffet and Honchkrow finally came to an end.
Red light flashed twice, and Honchkrow and Wobbuffet were recalled into their Poké Balls at the same time.
Sato no longer wanted to take advantage of the slight edge of switching later. After all, Itsuki had been countered by him far too severely.
Whichever one he switched in, it would be about the same.
Sure enough, Itsuki sent out Girafarig and his strongest Espeon in succession.
But neither of the two Pokémon lasted more than three turns against Tyranitar, suffering utterly crushing defeats.
Itsuki, a dignified Regional Elite Four member, had actually been swept clean. It was hard not to find that surreal.
But when they thought about how even Regional Champions had to go through this, many people could not help but reevaluate the vast gap between a Regional Champion and ordinary Trainers! Itsuki left the field dejectedly. Neither side didn't say much.
At a time like this, any comfort would have seemed superfluous. It was better to let Itsuki leave early, adjust himself, and recover on his own.
Very soon, another figure appeared in the contestants' passageway. Elite Four Sen walked out with a gentle smile, as though he had not come here to battle at all.
Only after the audience's applause gradually subsided did Elite Four Sen sigh at Sato.
"You young people charge ahead so quickly. I'm clearly not that old, so why does it feel like I'm about to be eliminated?"
Sen looked full of melancholy, practically wearing the words "I don't want to battle" across his face.
"Of course Brother Sen is still young. We're just too impatient," Sato replied with a smile.
