Anyone with a decent eye could tell that Norman wasn't weak. He had simply lost in terms of foundation and accumulated experience.
His strongest Slaking was only at the Pseudo-Elite Four High-Level, while the weakest Pokemon of the veteran trainer opposite him was already at that level. The other three were all at the Pseudo-Elite Four Peak.
Even so, Norman had still taken down three of his opponent's Pokemon. In the end, Slaking had lost only because it ran out of stamina.
Though defeated, he had fought with honor!
Before Norman left the field, he received plenty of applause and cheers as well. Everyone could see that he was still young, and his future would go far beyond this.
