Watching the Blizzard sweep across the entire field, Ryoko did not even need to hear Sato's command to know that he had sent out Weavile.
This time, she recalled Haxorus into its Poké Ball without hesitation and sent out her only remaining Pokémon, Torkoal.
Only then did the Blizzard finally subside. Yet apart from a burrow, Weavile was nowhere to be seen in Torkoal's sight.
"Torkoal, Iron..."
"Sneasel!"
Before Ryoko could finish her command, a large hole broke open beneath Torkoal's feet. Weavile leaped out of the burrow and sent the heavy Torkoal flying with a single punch.
Clearly, since Sato had sent out Weavile despite knowing that Ryoko still had a Torkoal, he could not possibly have lacked a plan.
Fortunately, Haxorus had used Earthquake earlier, loosening the soil beneath the field. That was the only reason Weavile could use Dig so quickly.
And a Ground-type Dig attack was far from friendly to Torkoal, not to mention that it had struck its soft belly, its weakest point in terms of defense.
"Weavile, Sucker Punch!"
"Sneasel!"
Having landed a hit, Weavile showed no intention of stopping. It immediately caught up with the fallen Torkoal and, without a word, struck at its head again.
"Torkoal, Rapid Spin!"
"Wunoh!"
Torkoal swiftly pulled its head and limbs into its shell, then began spinning at high speed. The smoke and dust it kicked up caused Weavile's attack to pause for an instant.
The next moment, Torkoal was spinning even faster and used the momentum to fly directly into the air!
"Another Pokémon that can fly!"
Someone in the stands suddenly exclaimed, and the people nearby smiled knowingly.
They exchanged glances. They were from the Hoenn Region.
Torkoal flew just like that to the other side of the battlefield, then abruptly extended its limbs and
