There were far more elderly people and Pokemon in the Pokemon Orphanage than Sato had imagined.
In the back yard, most of the elderly had graying hair and stooped figures. Some of them even had difficulty walking.
There was not a single human caregiver by their sides, yet every elderly person wore a faint, gentle smile.
A Scyther whose wings had deteriorated to the point where it could no longer fly was quietly pushing a wheelchair. Sitting in it was the only Trainer it had ever had in its life.
Scyther's Trainer was an old woman. She leaned comfortably against the wheelchair, chattering away about something to the Scyther behind her.

Poliwrath jolted from the splash. When it came back to itself, all it saw was the old man grinning at it with his toothless mouth, chuckling, "hehehe."
Poliwrath shook its head helplessly. He's practically got one foot in the grave, yet he still loves playing around so much.
But the next moment, Poliwrath suddenly reached out and wiped a hand across the old man's face, instantly giving him a wash as well.
"Wally~"

The old man and Poliwrath looked at each other, then burst into laughter before flicking water at each other again.
