Mark clung tightly to Lucario like an octopus, terrified that a single Bounce would fling him off.
Just moments ago, Mark and Lucario, lost deep within the forest, had suddenly encountered the Totem Pokemon of this place.
A Tangrowth over ten meters tall! Could anyone imagine how it felt to have vines as thick as thighs sweeping down at them from all directions? Mark was on the verge of collapse. He had thought that, with Lucario looking after him, this solo journey would not be too difficult.
But what he had not expected was that while Lucario could tell east, south, west, and north apart, it could not read a map!
Sometimes having the right direction did not mean they could accurately reach their destination, because some mountains and cliffs had to be detoured around.
And that detour led to trouble. They had gotten lost, unsurprisingly, and had stayed lost for over a month.
Fortunately, Mark had not carelessly brought only one or two Pokemon. With one person and six Pokemon working together, surviving had been easy enough.
But perhaps he was too favored by the Creation God. This was not the first time Mark had found himself in such a predicament. Even climbing onto Lucario's back, he looked remarkably practiced.
At last, Lucario stopped, panting, then coldly patted Mark on the head.
"Lu-ca!"
"Is... is it safe?" Mark cautiously poked his head out to look around before slowly climbing down from Lucario's back.
"Lucario, have you lost weight lately? Your back feels way harder than it did a few days ago. It hurts like crazy."
Lucario glanced at Mark, as if wanting to say, Whether I have lost weight or not, shouldn't you, my Trainer, know that yourself? "Haha, well, I have a feeling we'll be out of the
