Take a Day Off to Sell a House

The house I listed last week sold this afternoon. I bought it for 920,000 in 2017 and sold it today for 600,000. Counting the mortgage interest over the past nine years, I probably lost around 500,000. Sigh. The sooner I sold it, the sooner I could be free of it. At least I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

After selling the old place, I planned to trade it for a smaller secondhand apartment here, somewhere closer to my sister's family. That way, Doudou and my niece could attend the same elementary school and look out for each other a little.

Over the next few days, I needed to pay off the remaining mortgage early and remove the lien. The buyer needed the bank to approve his loan before the funds could be released to me.
