"Water Mist!"
A mass of dense fog instantly spread out from Locke, completely shrouding the forest within a hundred-meter radius.
In the distance, more than thirty soldiers clad in white armor stopped when they saw the fog. The leading warrior turned his gaze toward the two mages accompanying the army.
"Lord Anqiluo, Lord Baffy, that mage ahead has cast a spell. What should we do?"
"There is no need to worry, Captain Frank."
The younger of the two mages in white robes trimmed with gold looked at the fog ahead with a trace of disdain in his eyes.
"It is merely a Level 1 Water Element Magic spell, Water Mist."
"This spell poses no threat to people. It only creates fog to restrict everyone's vision."
"No threat, huh?"
"I see."
Upon hearing Mage Baffy say this, Captain Frank knew that it would be impossible to get the two of them to act.
Frank knew that the fog shrouding the woods ahead was the Level 1 spell Water Mist.
However, the Level 1 Water Mist spells he had seen before could only cover an area of around ten meters.
Yet at a glance, the fog before him extended for more than a hundred meters.
It was clear that the mage they were pursuing was no ordinary person.
Frank did not know whether Mage Baffy truly did not realize this or was merely pretending so that they could test the waters. But regardless, before they actually encountered that Frost Snow Empire mage, the two esteemed mages had no intention of making a move.
Frank immediately drew the Greatsword from his back and swung it toward the dense fog.
"Brothers, charge with me!"
With that, Frank kicked off the ground, leaving a small crater beneath his feet from the sheer force. His body shot forward at tremendous speed, clearing more than ten meters in a single leap. Within only a few breaths, he had crossed the hundred-plus meters between them and the fog-covered woods, charging into the mist.
"Charge!"
Behind Frank, although his team members were not as fast as he was, each of them could still cover more than ten meters in a second. In mere seconds, all thirty-plus warriors had rushed into the dense fog.
They're coming?
Locke glanced at the two Light Element mages still standing in place, feeling slightly regretful.
If those two Light Element mages had rushed in as well, it would have saved him quite a bit of trouble.
For now, he would deal with these warriors first.
Closing his eyes, Locke spread out his Soul Power and merged it with the Water Mist he had cast.
In an instant, everything within the hundred-meter fog was completely under Locke's control.
Every wisp of mist became a vessel for his Soul Power.
Then, Locke silently shouted in his heart.
"Heavenly Dance Treasure Wheel!"
"Vision Deprivation!"
In an instant, Locke's Soul Power traveled through the fog and launched an attack against the souls of the thirty-four warriors who had entered the mist.
"Who's there?"
"Captain Frank, where are you?"
"My eyes! My eyes!"
"I can't see! Everyone, where are you? Have I gone blind?"
"Stay calm! Everyone, gather around me!"
Their vision had suddenly vanished, leaving nothing but darkness before their eyes. Even a Rank 6 Warrior as powerful as Frank could not help but feel fear rising in his heart.
However, Frank was a hardened soldier who had gone through dozens of battles. Hearing the cries of his men, he roared loudly, intending to gather everyone around him first.
Though he could not see, as a Rank 6 Warrior, Frank's other senses were not weak.
Very quickly, he adapted to the situation for the time being through his hearing.
But suddenly, Frank's expression changed drastically.
"Everyone, be careful! That mage has begun attacking! Don't run toward me. Pick any direction and keep running straight ahead!"
"This fog is only two hundred meters wide. You only need a dozen breaths to run out of it."
"As long as you leave this fog-covered area, you'll be safe!"
Within the fog, Locke, having deprived his enemies of their sight with his self-developed move, did not stop. He silently recited a spell.
"Blade of Ice!"
Ice magic was the most powerful form of physical attack among Water Element Magic. Even the lowest-level Blade of Ice was a Level 3 spell.
As Locke cast his spell, three one-foot-long, crescent-shaped Ice Blades appeared around him. Guided by his will, they traced arcs through the air and slashed across the necks of the warriors who had lost their vision in the fog.
"Ah!"
"Ah!"
"Ah!"
The dying screams of the warriors filled the other blinded soldiers with even greater terror.
Then Captain Frank's shout seemed to give them something to cling to. Forcing down the fear in their hearts, they erupted with all their strength and charged recklessly through the forest, desperate to escape the woods in the shortest time possible.
But unfortunately, why had Locke, after being hunted by them for more than ten days, chosen this place to ambush them?
Because there were trees here!
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Without their vision, the warriors would crash into trees after only a few steps of running at full speed.
Some of the stronger warriors could smash straight through trees as thick as a bowl, keep running forward, then crash into more trees again and again. This greatly slowed their escape.
As for the weaker warriors, after hitting a tree, they could only choose another direction and flee anew. Some even ran in circles, only to end up right where they had started.
Under Locke's control, the three crescent Ice Blades were like the scythes of death, harvesting the warriors' lives.
"Damn it!"
Listening to the screams of his soldiers, Frank was both grief-stricken and furious, yet helpless. He swung his Greatsword, cutting down every branch around him and clearing a flat area more than ten meters wide so he could make full use of his superior hearing.
More than a dozen breaths later, not a single sound remained in the forest.
Frank gripped the Greatsword in both hands, slowly turning his head as his ears gathered every sound around him.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh..."
Suddenly, an Ice Blade spun through the air in an arc, circling around behind Frank as it struck at him.
"Hah!"
Frank had already caught the sound of the Ice Blade cutting through the air. Drawing upon his combat experience, he spun around and struck the Ice Blade with his Greatsword, shattering Locke's attack to pieces.
After all, it was only a Level 3 spell. Even though Locke believed he had gained some understanding of the water element, this Blade of Ice still could not withstand the full-force strike of a Rank 6 Warrior.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh..."
Another Ice Blade came flying in, perfectly seizing the opening after Frank shattered the previous one.
