Mark explained Celebi’s unfinished time-travel summoning move and briefed Shane and other Ultra Defense Force officials on the Rainbow R Organization at Clear Stream Gym. After four hours, Mark left to prepare for his World Youth Trainer Competition match.

The chapter ended with Mark stopping Jirachi from trying to obtain more Eggs as he examined the two still-unhatched Cosmog.

• Jirachi explained that the two black spheres had appeared inside Nihilego after it swam through the Ultra Deep Sea, while Mewtwo revealed that Nihilego reacted protectively when anyone tried to remove them.

Mark explained Caterpie’s similarities to Cosmog and discovered that Caterpie could absorb temporal energy from Celebi, possibly helping it meet the conditions for evolution. The group celebrated near the Ultra Deep Sea until Zhou Tong arrived gravely injured, nearly an hour and a half late.

• Mark explained that Cosmog, like Caterpie and Magikarp, underwent complete metamorphosis and described its evolution into Solgaleo or Lunala.
