Ryo sighed inwardly, knowing this guy had been putting on an act from the very beginning, and immediately tried to avoid him.

She walked over to the door ahead and gently pushed it with her foot.

The heavy door creaked open, but a large patch of peeling wall plaster on the frame fell with it.

Ryo quickly pulled her foot back when she heard the sound.

Smack. A large piece of plaster hit the ground, kicking up dust.

But compared to that, the sight inside the room stirred her far more.

The concrete floor before her slanted downward, dropping from the second floor to halfway down the first. The uneven space inspired a strange, novel kind of fear.

As if reality itself had been torn open.

Just as she was absorbed in the sight.

She suddenly felt a gust of wind approaching and looked toward it.

Before she could make it out, though, she heard the same sound as the wall plaster breaking behind her.

She looked at Ishikawa Hayato, who had suddenly moved right in front of her, then turned back to inspect the plaster knocked from the corner of the wall.

Then she looked overhead.

The plaster had fallen from above. It had probably been shaken loose by the earlier commotion and fallen a beat later.

But how had this guy managed to knock something so fragile away intact?

"Ryo, who recommended a place this dangerous to you?"

Coming back to herself, she looked at Ishikawa Hayato, who was naturally leaning against her shoulder and peering into the room.

He looked very surprised.

Ryo asked him.

"Are you scared?"

Ishikawa Hayato turned his head and met Ryo's gaze from an extremely close distance without the slightest restraint.

He could distinctly feel the flow of air from Ryo's breathing.
