In the night sky.
The flames of the autocannons continued to roar.
Though they had already suffered more than half their number in casualties, and the battle on the ground had ended, the Falcon Kingdom's First Flight Squadron had no intention of retreating.
Glaring furiously at the five remaining "Mosquitoes," Akant's eyes blazed with hatred as he pressed the autocannon trigger and let out a roar.
"Die!!"
The mission no longer mattered.
There was only one thing he wanted to do now: send the pilots on the other side straight to hell!
He would avenge his fallen comrades!
The aircraft he had locked onto rolled through the air, orange-yellow tracers almost grazing its cockpit canopy.
Watching the enemy plane pull up into a climbing turn, Akant clicked his tongue, yanked hard on the control stick, raised his nose, and gave chase.
That cunning Mosquito!
Pressing the intercom on his shoulder with his index finger, Akant barked in a low voice.
"I'll take the shark-headed plane. You deal with the rest!"
A reply came through the comms channel.
"Roger!"
By sheer coincidence, the guy he had latched onto really was named Mosquito.
Sitting in the cockpit, Mosquito cursed under his breath, quickly glanced back at the "Eagle" relentlessly pursuing him, then slammed the left rudder while climbing and executed a one-hundred-eighty-degree roll along the Z-axis.
The crushing G-forces tore at every cell in his body, draping another layer of darkness over the already black night sky.
But it lasted only an instant.
He successfully completed an almost one-hundred-eighty-degree turn in midair, brushing past the aircraft pursuing him from behind at an angle!
And he had not broken apart!
"...Fuck, that scared the hell out of me!"
Watching the silhouette streak past outside the cockpit, Mosquito let out a breath, steadied his
