Below Boulder Military Industries Building.
Murderous Dagger stood there like an ape, looking up at the sky with a miserable expression.
"Damn it! Why can't I take the plane?!"
All the Good Names Were Taken by Dogs, standing beside him, glanced at his excavator-like hands and said with a cheeky grin.
"Those two lumps of iron of yours are worth two passengers. You'd probably dismantle the plane just scratching your head. Just forget it."
Kidney Fighter patted his shoulder.
"Yeah, forget it."
Murderous Dagger said miserably.
"I want to tear this thing apart."
He finally understood the pain of playing a mutant.
Never mind whether it looked ugly or not—being unable to use conventional weapons was painful enough.
If he'd known, he should have copied Mosquito and installed a spine with more slots, then added the two huge fists as extra cybernetic implants instead of directly replacing both of his original arms.
That would have made much more sense.
"Rich people..."
"You're really good at wasting money."
Kidney Fighter and Good Dog stared at him with envious expressions.
Modifying mechanical implants wasn't free. Depending on the situation, it could account for a third, or even half, of the total price.
Murderous Dagger smiled sheepishly.
"No worries. I can sell them secondhand, hehe."
Kidney Fighter rolled his eyes and exposed his self-consolation.
"Who the hell would buy that thing?!"
Not wanting to dwell on such a regret-filled subject, Murderous Dagger changed the topic.
"By the way, why aren't you leaving with the plane?"
Kidney Fighter sighed.
"Eh, wasn't I keeping you company?"
"Good brother!"
Touched, Murderous Dagger raised his hand to pat his old Kidney brother on the shoulder, scaring him into dodging away in a cold sweat.
"Fuck! Are you trying to kill me?!"
