Taking a Day Off

The story was about to enter its next phase, so I was taking a day off to sort out the outline.

To be honest, this was also my first time attempting a novel this long—using a single shelter as the thread to tell the story of the entire wasteland and the different races and characters living on it.

The character profiles and outline alone had nearly reached 200,000 words. If I fully expanded every side plot, it might end up even longer, but that would be beyond both my writing speed and my ability to plan the plot.

As for the next stage of the story, I had already thought up several key plot points, but I needed to carefully consider the order in which they would appear before I could continue writing.

And let me say something from the heart.

Sometimes, writing a book felt like more than just mental labor—it was physical labor too. Staring at a computer screen for too long made my head feel like it had been filled with lead. You probably thought that whenever I wasn't writing, I was playing games. That wasn't wrong, but more often than not, I was just spacing out and letting my mind go blank.

It was probably that feeling of being completely wrung dry.

There would be no update today. My sincerest apologies to everyone waiting for it...
