The war erupted. The disparity in numbers between the two sides was enormous, yet their combat strength was evenly matched.
The far fewer Kryptonian warriors unleashed combat power that directly crushed Apokolips.
The low-level Parademons transformed from Japanese people were nothing more than cannon fodder. They were barely stronger than ordinary humans and had no ability whatsoever to resist Kryptonian superpowers.
One blast of Cold Breath could freeze hundreds or thousands of Parademons, sending them plummeting from the sky and smashing them to pieces. A sweep of Heat Vision could cut hundreds more in half, leaving them screaming as they fell like raindrops.
To Kryptonians, low-level Parademons were no different from ants beneath their feet.
Those poor Japanese people were truly unlucky. Disaster had fallen from the sky, and being offered up as sacrifices was bad enough. Even after death, they could not rest in peace, becoming cannon fodder for Apokolips only to be mercilessly slaughtered by Kryptonians.
But who could they blame for all this?
They had ignored the leak at their own nuclear reactor, allowing Steppenwolf to take notice of it. It had become his hiding place and Apokolips's bridgehead for invasion.
In short, they had brought all of this upon themselves.
"Surrender without a fight. Against powerful Kryptonian warriors, your army is a joke."
With the Kryptonians slaughtering them, the defeat of the low-level Parademons was only a matter of time. General Zod thus habitually provoked Darkseid.
"They are merely expendable trash. No matter how many die, it makes no difference."
Darkseid merely cast an indifferent glance at the Parademons dying one after another. He did not care about their lives in the slightest.
They were cheap cannon fodder to begin with, an army converted in barely half a day. If they all died, then they died.
