Zod's Plan

"Krypton was dying, and we tried many methods."

Within Clark's mind, Zod was communicating with him.

"On Krypton, the birth of every member of our race was carefully selected through the Life Codex. Every Kryptonian born was naturally suited to a particular role."

"And your father, Jor-El, stole the Life Codex, placed it in your spaceship, and sent you to Earth."

The setting within Clark's mind was the farm where he had grown up, and Zod began explaining.

"Why?"

Clark looked at Zod and could not help asking.

"So Kryptonians could be reborn on Earth."

Zod said solemnly.

The meaning was obvious. He claimed that Jor-El had sent Clark to Earth with the Life Codex so that he could rebuild Kryptonian civilization there, using Earth as its foundation and bringing about Krypton's revival.

It sounded reasonable and well-supported. If Clark had not already met the consciousness of his biological father, Jor-El, he might have believed General Zod's nonsense.

This rotten old man was truly wicked. He did not even blink when he lied.

Of course, Clark knew Zod was lying, but he did not expose him immediately. Instead, he remained calm, looking as though he believed him.

"Where is the Life Codex, Carl?"

"If Kryptonians are reborn on Earth, what will happen to Earth?"

Clark did not answer General Zod's question, because he did not know what the Life Codex even was. Still, he needed to understand the consequences of what Zod intended to do.

"Rebuilding comes with sacrifice. Your father understood that as well."

Even now, Zod did not forget to keep lying, telling Clark that even his father had supported this plan.

"No, Zod, you can't do this!"

As General Zod's words fell, countless human skulls flooded over Clark in the illusion within his mind, making him cry
