Naruto trained with Killer B, befriended several Tailed Beasts, and returned to Konoha before joining the mission to rescue Gaara and face Akatsuki. The stretch ended with Naruto interrupting Utsu’s Genjutsu and saving Hanabi during her escort mission.

• Naruto trained with Killer B, learned to control the Nine-Tails’ power, and earned the Raikage’s respect after their clash over the Hyuga incident.

Naruto reunited with his resurrected parents and Rin while facing Akatsuki and the Three-Tails, and he learned more about the bonds that connected him to the Tailed Beasts. The stretch ended with Sasuke absorbing Orochimaru and leaving his base.

• Naruto rescued Hanabi, Hideki, and Akan from Utsu’s collapsing cliff, then learned that Utsu had controlled the village with Genjutsu before Tobi killed him in the Land of Rain.
• Naruto joined Kakashi, Sakura, and Sai on a mission to find Sasuke, revived Rin, Minato, and Kushina, and reunited with his parents despite Kushina’s anger over his Forbidden Jutsu.

Naruto mastered Sage Mode and defeated Pain, who revived Konoha’s dead before entrusting his and Jiraiya’s hopes for peace to Naruto. As the village rebuilt, Naruto reunited with Hinata and regained his sealed memories of Sasuke, while Rin helped Kakashi face their shared grief for Obito.

• Tsunade confirmed Sasuke had defeated Orochimaru, while Jiraiya left to infiltrate Amegakure and promised to teach Naruto a new ninjutsu if he returned.
• After Jiraiya died fighting Pain, Naruto grieved and then traveled to Mount Myōboku to learn senjutsu.
• Sasuke learned from Tobi that Itachi had protected Konoha, renamed his group Hawk, and declared that they would destroy the village.
• Pain attacked Konoha, but Minato and Kushina arrived to defend it as Naruto returned in Sage Mode and fought the Six Paths.

Naruto was thrown through Tobi’s Space-Time Rift into the Land of Ancestors, where he protected Kaguya and fought Tsukimi while searching for a way home. Kaguya eventually found the rift and offered to help Naruto return, as Minato continued searching for him and Hinata and Hanabi worked together on a scarf for Naruto.

• Naruto pleaded with the Raikage to spare Sasuke, but Sasuke appeared and refused Naruto’s attempt to beg forgiveness for him.
• Tobi declared war on the Five Great Nations, then sent Sasuke away and kicked Naruto into the Space-Time Rift after Naruto failed to bring Sasuke back.
• Naruto landed in the Land of Ancestors, met Kaguya, and offered her a home after the guards mistook them for the Emperor’s killers.
• Naruto protected Kaguya from Tsukimi and defeated him with Kurama’s help, but Tsukimi’s poisoned bone weakened Naruto, and Kaguya watched over him as he recovered.
• Naruto fed and sheltered Kinai, while Kaguya grew closer to him and Naruto remained troubled by his separation from Hinata and his family.
• Kaguya ate the Divine Tree’s fruit, gained new powers, and took Naruto to the Time-Space Rift above a lava lake to help him return home.
• Minato fought Tobi in the Land of Iron and continued searching for Naruto after Tobi claimed Naruto was dead.
