The dense power became almost tangible. It not only drove away the strange force that had just invaded her inner reserves, but also instantly expelled the aura of the surrounding Black Fog.
Wen Ke'er's usually smiling face was exceptionally cold. The emerald in her eyes had nearly vanished, deep black pupils emerging from the green, that heavy darkness overwhelming everything around her.
Not far away, the massive vines first froze, then exploded like fireworks amid the crimson, shattering into pieces. Scorched fragments wrapped in fine blood threads rained down from the sky. Yet the explosion defied the laws of physics. Rather than scattering outward, it gathered endlessly in midair, forming a blood-red long blade resembling a spear. Trailing boundless Black Fog, it stabbed toward Wen Ke'er, who had no time to dodge in the air.
Screech—!!
A streak of blood-red light tore through the Black Fog. The boundless darkness suddenly dimmed beneath it, and Wen Ke'er's face turned much paler as she spat out a spray of blood. Yet the bloody light in the sky did not stop. After touching that sweet, bloody scent, it became even more violent.
Wen Ke'er's body abruptly stiffened. Then, the power she had previously dared not release in excess erupted completely at that very moment.
The green in her eyes vanished entirely. The ethereal elven aura that had once lingered around her fully withdrew, and her icy, abyss-like eyes reflected the boundless Black Fog surrounding her!
That bloody crimson filled her pupils, but she showed no carelessness. She slowly drew herself up, curling into a ball. Two energy crystals flickering with faint light appeared between her clasped palms, and an increasingly vast invisible field formed around her.
