Nila Shun's Choice

"Are you sure this is what you want?"

Shen Yi showed no expression. He wasn't thinking nearly as much about it as Wen Ke'er was.

At his simple question, Nila Shun nodded firmly.

The ice crystal formed from Shen Yi's power flew straight toward her.

Drawn by the pure aura surrounding her, it met no resistance. As though it had always been part of her, it vanished into that aura.

"Not many newborn Elves choose a composite element like she did. She'll probably need some time to master it. Shall we go out for a walk?"

Wen Ke'er turned to him with a smile. The silk dress Shen Yi had tossed her was exceptionally comfortable.

Until now, she had always worn clothes formed from her own power.

Wrapped in the silk dress, she felt its smooth fabric against her skin, close-fitting and comfortable. It was like being enveloped by a warm breeze. Wonderful!

But before she could finish speaking, Nila Shun's aura began to change rapidly.

First, her pure aura faded at a speed visible to the naked eye. Then an extremely thin layer of ice crystals formed over her pale blue skin.

A few breaths later, a faint dusting of frost covered her skin. It made her look much paler and lent her a coldness that held everyone at a distance.

"How is she changing so quickly?"

Wen Ke'er frowned. What she had just said came back to embarrass her, leaving her rooted to the spot with burning cheeks.

"When I examined her soul earlier, I found that although her aura had changed and she now carried the aura of an Elf, her soul had barely changed. It was still much as it had been before."

"Are you sure your people are defined by the soul rather than the
