When the Path of the King opened, thirty-seven teams had taken part in the trial. Yet after only the first stage, just fourteen teams remained. If the losses suffered by those fourteen teams were included, the total number of survivors was only about one-third of the original number.
Even with such a high elimination rate, this generation of participants was still the strongest in history.
There had been five Saint King Level attackers alone, which meant there were at least five suspected Saint King Level powerhouses.
In the past, Saint King Level attackers appeared at most once or twice, and most of the time, they did not appear at all. Moreover, whenever a Saint King Level attacker appeared before, fewer than one-tenth of the participating teams could successfully repel one. But this time, all five Saint King Level assaults had been repelled, and one attacker had even been killed. That had never happened before.
Even so, the elimination rate for this first round had already exceeded sixty percent.
"The Path of the King truly isn't simple..." Even Sea Emperor let out such a sigh.
The first stage had already been this difficult, leaving many of the teams that had passed feeling uneasy. No one knew what they would encounter in the second stage.
For prodigies below the level of a Main God, the Path of the King offered only one chance in a lifetime to participate. Once they had entered, they could not enter a second time, even if their cultivation had still not broken through to the Main God level.
Furthermore, after everyone who entered the Path of the King was teleported out, all memories concerning the trial's contents within the Path of the King were erased.
