Upon receiving word that everyone else had safely withdrawn, the weight on Gu Ding's heart finally lifted.
He was not worried about his own safety, but he had been concerned that something might happen to the others. After all, so many Main God Level powerhouses had been pursuing him, and Liliath and the others had borne all the attacks for him.
After receiving confirmation from Sea Emperor that everyone had safely evacuated, the corners of Gu Ding's lips rose slightly.
"Only this Black Robed Man behind me remains..."
Gu Ding turned to look behind him. Only the Black Robed Man was left; all the other pursuers had vanished.
Gu Ding abruptly stopped, turned to face him, and asked, "Who exactly are you?!"
Seeing that Gu Ding was no longer fleeing, the Black Robed Man stopped as well.
"Hand over the Strange Treasure, and I can leave you an intact corpse."
"That black robe of yours is pretty nice. Why not hand it over, and I'll leave you an intact corpse too?" Gu Ding said with a smile.
"You're courting death!"
The Black Robed Man's figure flickered, and he appeared eerily behind Gu Ding. A sharp blade stabbed toward the back of Gu Ding's head.
That attack instantly pierced through the back of Gu Ding's head, yet the Black Robed Man showed no joy at all. Instead, he retreated in an uncanny manner. The instant he launched his attack, he had realized that it was only Gu Ding's afterimage.
"Your reaction is pretty quick. But no matter how strange your movement technique is, you're not faster than me!" Gu Ding appeared at his side and savagely swept a kick into the Black Robed Man's neck.
Yet an eerie resistance spread from that black robe, blocking the energy of Gu Ding's attack.
