Gu Ding was only briefly dazed before he found himself in a pitch-black space.
This space did not block his senses at all. When he spread out his spiritual perception, he discovered that it was a cubic space.
The space was not particularly large, of course, compared to the grand structures Gu Ding had seen before.
But what caught Gu Ding's attention was not the size of the space, but the creatures densely packed throughout it when he scanned it with his spiritual perception.
Gu Ding knew that these palm-sized, blue translucent monsters with ferocious faces were likely the Demon Spirits the Abyssal Demon Ancestor had mentioned.
Sensing Gu Ding's presence, many Demon Spirits surged toward him, but they remained wary, seemingly not daring to approach too closely.

But before Gu Ding could come up with a solution, his apparent deliciousness seemed to outweigh the Demon Spirits' fear of the unknown. A few of them launched probing attacks at him.
Several Demon Spirits bared their fangs and claws as they leaped toward Gu Ding. For creatures only the size of a palm, their jumping power was indeed astonishing.
Gu Ding threw out several heavy punches in succession, blasting those Demon Spirits away.
Just as Gu Ding cursed the Abyssal Demon Ancestor for lying, he discovered that the Demon Spirits he had sent flying seemed completely unharmed. They climbed back up from the ground and pounced
