In the vast majority of universes, time moved linearly, in a single direction.
But the place Gu Ding and the others now occupied was a space with an extremely unusual dimension. It was known as the Sea of Time, though it also had another name: the River of Time.
Floating within the Sea of Time, Gu Ding's group preferred the name Sea of Time because it stretched as far as the eye could see, as vast as an ocean.
Of course, the Sea of Time was larger than any ocean in any universe. If placed within the dimension of the present world, it would even cover a greater area than the entire chaos.
Within this ocean, different directions represented different times—past, present, and future.
The distance traveled represented the eras crossed...
After entering this strange world, the Dream ship could no longer be activated. Yet it seemed to be drawn by something, continuously sailing against the current of the River of Time in a certain direction.
This situation left Gu Ding and the others completely baffled.
Sea Emperor and Robert even tried inspecting the ship several times, but found nothing. They could not determine why the ship was traveling backward.
However, knowing that this was the Sea of Time, no one dared to rashly leave the ship. Once they became separated, anyone who fell into a certain era might never be able to return. Thus, they could only obediently remain aboard and let the ship drift on its own until it reached an era where it could dock.
Since they had no idea how long they would drift, everyone entered seclusion. Only Sea Emperor left behind an avatar to keep Robert company.
