The Material Realm and the Virtual Realm were not actually located within the same space. Their positional relationship was somewhat like that of the ground and the sky, except there were additional passageways connecting them.
These passageways were basically used by Heavenly Demons from the Virtual Realm. Few powerhouses from the Material Realm took the initiative to travel to the Virtual Realm.
Heavenly Demons were consciousness entities by nature, the same in essence as the souls of living beings in the Material Realm. However, when Heavenly Demons infiltrated the Material Realm, they were difficult to detect. Conversely, if beings from the Material Realm entered the Virtual Realm, they had to abandon their physical bodies and could only enter in soul form. To Heavenly Demons, souls from the Material Realm were practically delicious food. They could be detected from a great distance away and were easily exposed.
With the help of the Light of Chaos, the Gu Ding Pirate Crew arrived at the region containing one of the connecting passageways after more than two months.
Gu Ding left behind another mirror clone. Then he and Sea Emperor separated their souls from their bodies, left the Dream ship, and darted into the passageway.
The Dream ship remained near the entrance to the passageway, waiting for Gu Ding and the others to return after completing their mission.
Gu Ding and Sea Emperor had no idea how long their souls traveled through the passageway before they finally reached its other end.
