A Dangerous Journey

Liliath was in low spirits all night. Gu Ding also chose to remain silent, afraid of saying something wrong again.

The long night ended in silence, and dawn finally broke.

Gu Ding woke up Liliath, and after eating compressed food, the two finally set off.

Under a large tree, Gu Ding finally stopped.

Gu Ding nodded, stood up, and pressed his body against the tree trunk, his back facing the direction the monster was coming from. The thick tree trunk completely concealed their figures.

But the sound of the giant beast grew closer and closer. Gu Ding and Liliath even felt the branches beneath their feet tremble slightly with every step it took forward.

"This is a guy comparable to a Third-Order Gene Body. Your chances of winning are slim. Be careful and avoid it!" Sea Emperor reminded Gu Ding in his ear.

Behind the tree trunk, the two didn't dare to breathe, patiently waiting for the giant beast to leave. A few minutes later, hearing the giant beast's footsteps slowly fade away, the two finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But just then, a monster darted past not far from the giant beast. The giant beast saw it and immediately chased after it. The monster, in a panic, ran towards the direction where Gu Ding and Liliath were hiding, and the giant beast followed closely behind.

Liliath watched the approaching monster, a sharp glint flashing in her eyes. Her weapon transformed back into the heavy sniper from the previous night. She quickly attached the suppressor, loaded the magazine, and pulled the trigger on the monster.

With only a soft "thump," Gu Ding saw the monster suddenly collapse. Its body was less than two hundred meters away from the large tree.

Seeing the monster suddenly fall, the giant beast was clearly stunned for a moment, but it immediately rushed forward, picked up the monster's corpse, tore it open, and stuffed it into its mouth in a few gulps. After a burp, it twitched its nose, as if sniffing for something.

Liliath, beside him, also had sweaty palms. She leaned tightly against the tree trunk, not daring to look in the direction of the giant beast.

Both of them hid there with trepidation, hoping to escape this ordeal.
