According to several posts recently exposed on a certain forum (some of which may have been deleted), a small number of people claiming to be webnovel instructors have been using information gathered online to recruit new authors. They employ a pyramid-scheme-like model, having new authors recruit others into groups, then charging them through "guided" lessons on how to write webnovels.
Here, the authors forwarding this letter of condemnation speak out together: genuine online authors and veterans of the industry will never charge newcomers training fees under any name, nor are they qualified to do so. Those unscrupulous individuals attempting to profit from this should stop as soon as possible and refrain from tarnishing authors' reputations.
While these people exploit legal loopholes for profit and cannot be stopped, all we can tell new authors is this: webnovels are not sacred, but they are by no means lowly. Those who truly know how to write webnovels are the authors wielding their pens on online literature websites—not shameless people who use online tutorials to swindle money. Please do not continue being deceived.
We respectfully ask all authors who support the stance of this declaration to repost this article and safeguard our rights and interests.
