Inside the supermarket, Zhou Shuli carried a gun and barked orders, driving the people he had taken in to work. He wanted them to sort and gather the food, then clean up the supermarket. The zombies nearby had already been lured away, so it was safe. The supermarket was well-stocked, and he wanted to live here.

As for the group who had driven off in the pickup truck to lure away the zombies, he had long since forgotten about them. He could not care less whether they lived or died. It made no difference if they came back or not. It would be best if they did not return, so they would not consume any more of his food.

The man he had killed was hanging upside down at the entrance. Blood dripped down, staining a puddle that had already turned black and attracted swarms of mosquitoes. The corpse swayed there, hanging straight down, constantly wearing away at everyone else's mental defenses.
