Can You Drive?

The truck suddenly made a sharp U-turn and headed down another road. Chu Han frowned deeply. Taking a detour would undoubtedly waste a great deal of time. The apocalypse was completely different from the civilized era; a journey that normally took two or three hours often required an entire day, and travel within the city was even slower. Time seemed to stretch infinitely, and when luck was bad, they might not be able to move an inch.

Because they had spotted it in time, Chu Han and the others had not entered the range of the zombie horde. They gave it a wide berth and drove at full speed for several hours, heading in another direction.

Tong City truly deserved its later reputation as a city of the dead. With so many zombies blocking the exits and entrances, the city's lifeblood had effectively been cut off.

Chu Han was at his wits' end when his body suddenly lurched forward from inertia.

Screech—

The truck braked hard, and the tires let out a piercing scrape.

"Fuck! Are you blind?!" an angry curse rang out.

Chu Han's eyes narrowed. He paused, then yanked open the side door and jumped out with his axe in hand. Shang Jiudi immediately followed with her gun raised. Bai Yun'er hesitated for a moment before preparing to get out as well.

They were at a bend in the road, and the two trucks had nearly collided. Such a thing would have been utterly ordinary before the apocalypse, but now, when humans were so scarce, it felt distinctly out of place. A truck could only mean they were after food, and food was the chief culprit behind humans slaughtering one another.

There were two trucks now. Would they swallow each other up, or go their separate ways?
