Bzz—
A large cargo truck came speeding over, screeching to a stop before the crowd. Two loud bangs rang out as the doors slammed shut, and three people jumped down from the truck, each carrying a gun.
Not a single piece of clothing on the three of them was clean. Their bodies were covered in rotten zombie flesh and black blood, even their hair and shoes soaked in sticky filth that gave off a powerful stench. Their faces were so obscured that no one could tell whether they were male or female. As they strode forward, chunks of decaying flesh fell from them onto the ground, staining it black.
"Brother?" Cheng Zehao jumped in fright and hurried forward. "Brother, did you run into zombies?"
The leader's face was filled with anger. It was Cheng Xianguo, returning from outside. Ye Chen and Yuezi followed behind him, their expressions equally grim as they strode over.
"Were you the one who fired that gun just now?!" Cheng Xianguo did not answer Cheng Zehao's question. Instead, he glared at his younger brother with a slightly twisted expression.
"Yes." Cheng Zehao's heart skipped a beat. His brother had always strictly forbidden him from removing the suppressor from his automatic rifle, but for the thrill of it—and for the smug satisfaction of intimidating others—he would always take it off whenever Cheng Xianguo was away. He had not expected to be caught red-handed this time.
"Brother, listen to me. I was just panicking for a moment." Cheng Zehao gave an awkward smile and tried to explain himself, but he suddenly froze halfway through.
Because Cheng Xianguo was glaring him down. Those eyes belonged to a crazed beast. He was not looking at his own younger brother at all, but at a zombie, filled with killing intent.
