Three years earlier, the Kabart Empire had placed an order with the Federation for fifty thousand Energy Shield units.
Naturally, the materials used to offset the payment had been delivered to the Federation within those three years. This shipment had delighted the Federation beyond measure.
After all, the Energy Shield units the Federation sold to the Kabart Empire were priced at a thousand times their cost—and note that this was the price in Federation credits!
Kabart had no Federation credits, so what could they do?
The same old method: ask what materials the Federation wanted, then deliver those materials in exchange for Federation credits. But what had the Federation done?
It purchased them at ten percent of the normal Federation price. For example, if one ton of steel cost 3,000 Federation credits within the Federation, the Federation quoted the Kabart Empire a purchasing price of 300 credits per ton. Every other resource acquisition followed this same standard.
With this back-and-forth arrangement, selling a single Energy Shield unit could bring back materials worth ten thousand Energy Shield units. And the Federation had sold fifty thousand of them to the Kabart Empire in one go!
That did not even include the eighty thousand units it had already sold them before!
One could imagine just how wealthy the Federation had become by now.
It could be said that these total of 130,000 Energy Shield units had directly drained centuries of the Kabart Empire's accumulated wealth.
Yet for the Kabart Empire, it had still been well worth it. Relying on this equipment, it had directly wiped out several million Oakes Empire warships along the border, seized a large number of Star Systems, and was now setting its sights on Level 2 and Level 3 Civilizations in other directions.
