At the first light of dawn, Ed had already arrived at the residence of an Independent High Judge of the Federation and rung the doorbell.

The judge's name was Eli Morse. He was eighty-two this year and should have retired several years ago, but Eli had been lucky enough to live through the era when genetic enhancement serum became widespread.

After receiving a dose of genetic enhancement serum, he was now brimming with vitality. Even his appearance had reverted to that of a man under forty. Rumor had it that he was even considering having another son.

"Ed, it's you. What brings you to see me so early in the morning?"

Seeing Ed being escorted inside by a guard, Eli said with a smile.

"Old sir, I'm here again because of the presidential term issue!"

Ed's words immediately soured Eli's expression. Several years ago, Ed had come to him seeking his support for amending the presidential term limits.

Eli had refused at the time. Although he acknowledged that Ed's arguments made some sense, the matter was simply too significant, and Eli believed the time was not yet right.

Thus, Eli had lectured Ed back then, telling him that he was being too hasty.

For the next several years, Ed had not mentioned the matter again. Eli had thought that he understood, but now he was back. Did this fellow really not understand?

This was not the right time. No one would support it at all!

"Old sir, don't give me that look just yet. Please read these documents first. They're all 3S-level top-secret files! But don't worry, I've received authorization from the president for you to review them!"

As he spoke, Ed handed over the document pouch in his hand.

Though somewhat puzzled, Eli accepted it and began reading carefully.
