Open Warp Drive Engines to all Level 3 Civilizations?
Ever since Xis had proposed it three years ago, the other three had considered it, but they had never been able to make up their minds!
The reason was simple: they feared that too many civilizations would slip beyond their control!
This system of control, formed over tens of thousands of years, had seeped into their bones. Even knowing it was no longer suitable for the times, it was not so easy for them to resolve to dismantle it.
But now, it seemed they had no choice but to agree!
It could even be said that such a change had become their only path to survival.
"I agree to lift the restrictions on Warp Drive Engines, but there must be a condition. The Warp Drive Engines we distribute must contain backdoors so that they can be destroyed later!"
Inside the Virtual Meeting Room, Verto was the first to break the silence.
After all, the battlefield was in the First Main Arm. If anyone was going to be finished first, it would be him. To him now, any condition was acceptable so long as it could resolve the insectoid threat!
"I agree as well. Just as Verto said, there must be backdoors. And the four of us must sign an agreement that, once the insectoid matter is over, we will use those backdoors to jointly destroy every Warp Drive Engine that has been distributed!"
"My opinion is the same as Moros's. The agreement must be signed!"
Following Verto, Moros and Hussein also agreed, though they added a prerequisite. Naturally, no one objected to this condition—not even Xis himself!
"Fine. Even if you hadn't brought up that prerequisite, I would have proposed it myself!"
"Yes, exactly!"
Xis and Verto immediately responded as well.
