Galon offered the Sun River Empire ten thousand Black Hole Crystals in exchange for another Dark Energy Spring. Amles accepted the price, leaving Harris to return and negotiate with Galon.

The Federation and the Sun River Empire waged a prolonged Dark Energy Crystal war of attrition while the Alliance destroyed the Empire’s front-line subsidiary fleets. After the Empire’s supplies ran out, Gloucester ordered a last all-out attack, setting the stage for a decisive battle against the Alliance.

• Lin Fan learned that the Federation had captured the last Supercluster bordering the Empire’s front line, but grew suspicious of how long the Empire could sustain its Dark Energy Crystal expenditure.
• Amles and Harris decided to keep spending the Empire’s reserves, believing they could exhaust the Alliance’s much larger supply.
• By the fifth day, the Alliance had wiped out the Empire’s subsidiary fleets and attacked its defensive line, but the Empire held firm.
• On the fifteenth day, Amles worried that Gloucester’s supplies would run out before the Alliance’s Dark Energy Crystals did, while Lin Fan remained confident the Empire’s fleets could be ground down.

List’s Divine Radiance attack group battled a Peak Eleventh Order Dark Energy Manipulator while awaiting a War God Squad. The squad arrived, but the Sun River Empire’s fighter sensed that its three Eleventh Order members were not Peak-level.

• List ordered his fleet to retreat while fighting, wearing down the Sun River Empire’s supplies and inflicting losses at a three-to-one ratio.
• A Peak Eleventh Order Dark Energy Manipulator attacked from more than thirty AU away, destroying roughly thirty million Divine Radiance warships with one beam.

• Itrul held back against the Alliance fleet to draw out a peak-level opponent, but the reinforcements arrived without a Peak Eleventh Order Dark Energy Manipulator.
• Enraged by the War God Squad's use of shipborne weapons, Itrul unleashed an attack capable of destroying a star region.

Harris reported the catastrophe to Amles, who learned that Gloucester and the last two Protector Dark Energy Users had also been killed.

After the Empire’s fleet and most of its Protector Dark Energy Users were destroyed, Amles approved Harris’s plan to draw Hypnos into the war and provoke Galon into breaking his restraint. Harris reached Hypnos’s territory and asked for help, but Hypnos mocked the Empire for failing again.

• Amles learned that Gross and most of the Empire’s Protector Dark Energy Users had died and feared the Empire could not withstand the Alliance.
• Harris proposed persuading Hypnos to bring other Biological Civilizations into the war, hoping Hypnos’s death would drive Galon to intervene.
• Amles ordered Harris to make the plan succeed, placing the fate of the Empire’s citizens in his hands.

• Tatarol learned that the Starry Sky Lion’s Dark Energy had exceeded measurement limits and ordered the fleets to activate their Absolute Dark Energy Barriers.
• The Starry Sky Lion unleashed its stored Dark Energy in a suicidal explosion that annihilated almost all the first-line warships.
• Tatarol ordered the surviving forces to retreat to the second line of defense and rendezvous with Commander Salakta.

Lin Yu arrived to rescue the War God Squad and destroyed all eighteen tenth-order biological entities threatening them. He then raced toward Black Hole Channel Three to rendezvous with the fleet in case another wave of enemies emerged.

• Chris directed the fleet to break through the opening Lin Yu had blasted in its left flank, while Lin Yu pursued the tenth-order creatures.
• The War God Squad learned that Lobik was too badly injured to fight and received orders to withdraw once Lin Yu arrived.
• Lin Yu took over the battle and unleashed eighteen beams that pierced the creatures’ defenses and wiped out all eighteen enemies.

• At the Current Mouth, the Alliance fleets and Dark Energy users fired on Kaens’s creatures, then retreated, leaving the area empty.
• Kaens reported to Hypnos that the Alliance had fled and the Current Mouth was under their control, and Hypnos ordered a sweep of the Tusens Supercluster.
• Lin Yu received orders to lead the fleet through a Black Hole Channel, and the ships arrived near the Vertod Star Cluster in the Raball Supercluster.
• The fleet detected Hypnos’s energy signature and used hyperspace to move toward the Cosmic Current node where he was located.
