Heg was deeply displeased. Though it had not been a full-power strike, it had certainly not been weak.

Yet it had failed to completely destroy the target.

Most crucially, after the target revealed itself, Heg had sensed that while the lifeforms aboard the warship were not weak, they were certainly not powerful either. At most, they were only slightly stronger than ordinary lineage-class Purgatory Creatures.

Yet such lifeforms, insignificant as ants compared to itself, had escaped one of its attacks.

This displeased it to the extreme.

However, just as Shangguan Youlan had gambled, the attack spanning dozens of AU could not be fired continuously in rapid succession. Otherwise, the special organ within Heg's body would never withstand it.

Of course, it was not impossible to force out another shot, but the price would be enormous. Just for that ant in the distance?
