Sers Terra, Emperor of the Terra Empire.

Sers was panicking. More than a day ago, a fleet from an unknown civilization had suddenly invaded his territory.

Like the Blue Radiance Republic, eighty percent of the Terra Empire's main fleets had joined the United Fleet on its expedition. Only a small number of main fleets remained within the civilization, along with numerous administrative district Garrison Fleets that possessed little combat power.

In just over a day, the Terra Empire had already lost two large star systems and more than a dozen military strongholds with fleets stationed there.

The Garrison Fleets in particular were bad enough at fighting, but they had actually surrendered without even putting up a fight. This infuriated Sers.

But what could anger accomplish?

The enemy was now less than 300,000 light-years from the star system containing his imperial capital region. At their previous rate of advance, they would enter his imperial capital region in no more than a day.

This left Sers utterly flustered.

Yet amid that panic, there was also a faint glimmer of hope in his eyes.

A day earlier, Lavoisier had contacted him.

Although Sers was furious with the man who had defected on the battlefield and caused his main fleet to be wiped out, Lavoisier's first sentence made him abandon his original intention of cursing him out before cutting off the communication.

"I can help you deal with that fleet!"

Sers could not pretend he had not heard those words. No matter how deeply he resented Lavoisier, with his empire's survival at stake, he could only temporarily set aside that hatred.
