As time passed, Farn increasingly felt that something was wrong.
For nearly every ten civilizations he attacked, six or seven of them had certain star regions containing a force that could resist his dimensional projection.
Moreover, even excluding those star regions protected by special forces, the populations elsewhere were noticeably sparse.
As a result, over the past three months, Farn's gains had not even surpassed what he had harvested in a single month before.
That day, instead of hunting around as usual, Farn came to a star region within a civilization he had once attacked.
Farn remembered it clearly. More than a month ago, when he had attacked this civilization, it was this very star region that had emitted a strange force, preventing him from carrying out dimensional projection and thus from devouring any life within it.
He observed carefully and continuously sensed the surroundings.
Sure enough, that strange force still existed. Not only did it prevent him from carrying out dimensional projection, it also made it impossible for him to observe anything within the star region.
This was not a good sign.

And after sensing it carefully, Farn realized that this force felt familiar.
That was right. It was extremely similar to the energy produced by the humans' technology back in Nirkenia.
