One was to create a Black Hole Particle Disruptor, send it into the channel, and activate it to destroy the channel from within.
The other was to open another Black Hole Channel and set its exit at the exit of the channel they wanted to destroy. In the end, the one that could no longer sustain its energy supply would be destroyed.
Given the current situation on the battlefield, with the Biological Civilization army blocking the way, the first method was clearly impossible.
Naturally, the Federation could only use the second method.
