Ch. 622God King Tang's Mouth
Tang San persuaded Bo Saixi that Sea God Poseidon had selfishly left her to die rather than help ignite his successor’s God Fire, and she accepted his explanation without investigating further. Tang San promised to find a way to spare her and Tang Chen, then revealed that Star Luo’s army had likely invaded the Balak Kingdom.
- Bo Saixi demanded that Tang San explain his claims about the Sea God, and Tang San described Poseidon as selfish and unworthy of her faith.
- Tang Chen explained that a God Servant had to sacrifice themselves to ignite the successor’s God Fire, and offered to take Bo Saixi’s place in Tang San’s final trial.
- Tang San argued that the Sea God could have left power to ignite his God Fire, as the Rakshasa God had done for Zhu Zhuqing, but had chosen not to.
- Bo Saixi accepted Tang San’s account of Poseidon’s death and stopped trying to determine whether it was true.
- Tang San promised that Bo Saixi and Tang Chen could stay together, then told them Star Luo’s army had likely invaded the Balak Kingdom.
